CHIC 303 Digital Exhibit (Dr. Gradilla): Introduction

Welcome

Making Christmas tamales, 2015This guide contains supplemental learning material and key resources for students in Dr. Alexandro Gradilla's Chicano/Mexican Cultures course  who are working with me on the digital exhibit project. If you have questions or need assistance, email me using the information on the right or book a personal Zoom research consultation with me (see below).

At the end of this semester's digital exhibit instruction sessions, students will be able to:

  • find, analyze, and select digital artifacts pertaining to Chicano/Mexican cultures
  • apply best practices for planning and preparing content for a digital exhibit
  • form APA citations for the digital artifacts they curate into the exhibit
  • create digital narratives in ArcGIS StoryMaps

This photo represents one of my family's important multi-generational traditions, our annual Christmas season tamale making party (la tamalada). Photo taken by me. After my parents downsized into a smaller post-retirement home, I inherited hosting this important tradition for my extended family.
