SciFinder logoSciFinder-n is a resource from the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS). It is the most comprehensive discovery tool of chemical and bibliographic information covering scientific journals, patents, conference proceedings, and technical reports. Chemical literature (CAS) coverage is from 1907 to present. Biomedical literature (MEDLINE) is from 1950 to present. SciFinder-n requires users to create individual accounts for access.

Databases Included:

  • CAPlus - bibliographic entries from Chemical Abstracts back to 1907 and further. Over 1,500 core chemical journals are included, as well as patents, books, and conference proceedings.
  • CAS REGISTRY - Chemicals and biochemical sequences searchable by name, number, formula, or structure, with experimental, spectral, and predicted property data.
  • CHEMLIST - Registry of regulated chemicals.
  • CHEMCATS - Chemical supplier catalogs.
  • CASREACT - Individually indexed reaction schemes back to 1840.
  • MEDLINE - bibliographic entries in the medical sciences back to 1949
