ArcGIS StoryMaps: Creating Swipe Blocks

About the Swipe Block

This interactive content block allows your audience to compare two images, such as a "then and now" perspective, or two express maps. The comparison between two express maps might involve showing a placemark set against a road map and a topographical map, or the same placemark zoomed in close and then set against against a "birds eye" view. You cannot mix an image and a map.

Video Tutorial

This 3-1/2 minute video by StoryMaps.com demonstrates how to add the swipe content block to a StoryMap. Although this video tutorial uses the StoryMaps.com version of the platform (being retired on June 30, 2025) , it is also applicable to the ArcGIS StoryMaps platform.
