The Desktop Version of Google Earth
Google Earth Pro is the desktop version of Google Earth, which renders the earth in 3D format and allows you to interact with geographic data. Google Earth allows you to search for and plot locations; manipulate your view of a location; fly over and between locations; plot out routes between locations; and view satellite, historical, and time-lapsed imagery.
Google Earth Pro used to require a $399 annual subscription but been 100% free to use since January 2015. It needs to be installed on a computer and can run on macOS, Windows, and Linux. More in-depth spatial analysis can be done with the desktop version than the web version.
