CRJU (Dr. Cunha) Digital Exhibit: Home

An instructional guide for Dr. Charles Cunha's criminal justice courses working on the digital exhibit.

Welcome

Welcome to this research guide for Public History courses taught by Dr. Margie Brown-Coronel.

This guide contains supplemental learning material and key resources for students in Dr. Charles Cunha's criminal justice courses who are working the digital exhibit project. I will add to it throughout the semester for each virtual and in-person instruction class session the students have with me. If you have questions or need assistance, contact me using the information on the right or book a personal Zoom research consultation with me (see below).

At the end of this semester's digital exhibit instruction sessions, students will be able to:

  • explain why and how the following types of digital works can be used without infringing upon copyright:
    • public domain works
    • Creative Commons works
    • publicly sharable streaming media
    • publicly shareable social media posts
  • critically think through the four factors of fair use to determine if other copyrighted works can be used in in a digital project
  • apply a set of best practices for planning and preparing data for a digital exhibit, including citing their sources
  • create digital narratives in ArcGIS StoryMaps
