CINAHL Plus with Full Text is more focused than a multidisciplinary database like OneSearch, but more intuitive than one like PubMed. It's an excellent place to begin your search for literature on health topics.

NOTE: When researching topics in mental health and psychiatry, consider adding APA PsycINFO to your search by using the "Choose databases" link above the search window in CINAHL. Instructions are also shown in the CINAHL Plus video to the left.

PubMed is a healthcare database like CINAHL. However, while CINAHL is more intuitive to use, PubMed can be more difficult search for new users. The advantage to using PubMed over CINAHL is that it searches a larger collection of articles. For tips on using PubMed, see the PubMed video to the left.

Because of its extremely broad subject matter and lack of advanced searching tools, Google Scholar is not recommended for searching for academic and scientific literature. It can be extremely effective, however, at measuring the impact of a particular article or for tracing the impact of literature.
