Open Access

A guide to Open Access principles, publishing, and related CSU Fullerton initiatives.

UPDATE: 05 August 2020

Due to the mandatory budget reductions resulting from the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, we have suspended the OA Publishing fund.

Authors still have options to making their works available openly via our institutional repository. We are happy to work with you to investigate your publisher policies and help make a version of your published work accessible.

For questions about the publishing fund, please contact Open Educational Resources Librarian Michaela Keating - mckeating@fullerton.edu

Open Access Article Publishing Fund

In order to reduce the financial barriers that prevent faculty from publishing in open access journals, the Pollak Library in partnership with the Emeriti of California State University, Fullerton has established a CSUF Open Access Article Publication Fund. The Fund accepts applications on a rolling basis throughout the academic year and covers up to $2000 of article processing fees to support the ability of researchers to publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals that are open access or have an open access option.

To find out more about eligibility and/or to access the grant application form, please see the CSUF Open Access Publishing Fund page.
