Who has access to the Pollak Library Spark Tutorials?

Anyone that has access to TITANium has access to the Pollak Library Spark Tutorials.

How do I give my students access to the Pollak Library Spark Tutorials?

How long do the Spark Tutorials take to complete?

Each individual tutorial takes between 10-15 minutes to complete, on average. It would take about an hour to complete the four Pollak Library Orientation tutorials.

Are these tutorials accessible/ATI-compliant?

Each tutorial features optional Closed Captioning. Alternative assignments are available for students that use screen readers, please contact a librarian.

Is there a way to display badges earned for completing Spark Tutorials on social media?

Not at this time, unfortunately. Cal State Fullerton is new to including the “badges” feature in TITANium and is still working out bonus features like this. Eventually, students will be able to link their TITANium profiles to Mozilla Backpack, through which they will be able to sync and display their badges anyplace that supports the Open Badges standard – like LinkedIn.

Please use this link to access the Spark Tutorials: This link will prompt a login into TITANium. Self-enroll in the course to access it.

How do I confirm that my students completed the tutorials?

  1. Open your course.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Participants.
  3. Click on a students' name to view their profile. 
  4. Under the Course Details section, click on Pollak Library Spark Tutorials. (Note: You must also “enroll” in the Spark Tutorials to view badges.) If this course is not listed under a student’s profile, the student has not completed any tutorials.
  5. Look for the badges section (see example). If there is no badges section, then the participant HAS NOT earned any badges. If they haven't earned any badges, they haven't completed any tutorials with 100% on the final quiz.

For each tutorial completed with a 100% score on the final quiz, participants will earn a digital badge. They look like this:

Each badge has the name of the tutorial for which it was issued and are linked to metadata about the tutorial. If the tutorial was NOT completed with a 100% score on the quiz, the participant DID NOT earn a badge.

If the participant earned this badge:

Then they completed all four Pollak Library Orientation tutorials. This badge is only issued after students complete all four tutorials to signify their achievement.

Or, your students can take a picture of the badges they've earned and send it to you.

Can I enroll my students in the Spark Tutorials course?

Unfortunately, no. Please provide the direct link to the course and students will be prompted to enroll when they click.
