Postsecondary Reading and Learning: ILLiad

Welcome! This guide is designed for students in the Postsecondary Reading and Learning online certificate program.

ILLiad Instructions for Distance Education Students

ILLiad — Interlibrary Loan Service

Register today with the ILLiad system through which you can request, track, and receive library materials.  As a CSUF distance education student, the library will provide free delivery of articles or books that we own but are not available electronically, or that we don’t own and must get via interlibrary loan.

Books are delivered to your mailing address.  Articles are sent electronically to your ILLiad account.  You are responsible for paying for postage to return books by their due date, but articles are yours to keep.

a. Access the library homepage and click on the Services tab. Under "Personal Tools," select MyIlliad.

b. Register as a new user

c. In the online profile form, be sure to include your correct email and mailing address (only distance education students are eligible for home delivery)

d. Choose a Department = Distance Education

e. Pick-up Location = Distance Education only (or Fullerton campus—Pollak Library if you live in the area and prefer to come into campus).

f. Once you are registered, you may submit your requests.  As a graduate student you are entitled to 20 active requests at a time. Be sure to plan ahead—most requests are filled within six days but some can take longer.
